At the moment Google is ‘slapping’ some of its advertisers…

In short, some advertisers – some who may have been with them for years – are having their accounts closed, with barely an explanation.

Why?

Because they can!

In short, if they don’t like what you are doing…they can get rid of you it is their business, after all.

With your eBaying, you may have noticed that eBay ‘wield’ a great deal of power. Emails are frequently not answered/returned and they can kick you off if they see fit.

So – with this in mind, you should…

 

1) Do everything you can to ‘diversify’ away from using a single site for selling products.

2) Do everything you can to ‘bolster’ your position on the site – to ensure it’s unlikely you will be kicked off.

 

Ed….sod Google , why don`t you tell people to advertise in the paper , ask them to place the ad next to the crossword?

Let’s look at number 2…

‘Bolstering’ your position.

Now, one of the ways eBay determine where you stand in the search results is how you rank on feedback – your ‘detailed selling’s  ratings’ are important.

• How fast you shipped.
• How well you described your items etc.

NOW..

Offering a ‘bonus’ of some kind to customers who’ve just bought something from you on eBay, why is this a good thing to do

WELL, if…in every out-going package…you offered a *FREE*’ bonus to people – and all that you asked in return was to ensure they give  you 5 stars for every feedback they leave, are you not securing a nice fat positive comment in return in YOUR favour?

IYes – this idea isn’t really new. But ‘back in the day’, 12-18 months ago, feedback wasn’t as important as it is now.

Now it’s important you keep your feedback ratings high, so you can get to be a ‘Top-Rated’ seller.

So what can we do to increase the chances of people leaving 5 star feedback?

As mentioned we can ‘cajole’ them to do it, of course.

Your ‘bonus’ could be given in the package, or you could make it conditional – e.g. you have to leave 5 stars before you can download/get this extra bonus.

This is certainly one way of increasing your chances of becoming a ‘Top-Rated Seller’. Yeah, it’s cheating – a bit.

Then again, maybe it isn’t.

And since the ‘big boys’ (Matron!) are only too eager to wield their powerful swords over your head when it suits them…then it’s about time you got some of that

power back.
