eBay..Gallery The Camera Never Lies,You Made A Sale?

Hi Ed WeBBers,

It’s amazing the difference a picture can make…

Before I explain more about that, let me tell you a bit more about the role of ‘visuals’ on eBay and their relationship to what you write in your description…

Let me explain…

Some items are sold based on their ‘visuals’ – what they look like.

For those items, you don’t need to write a particularly good description.

Why?

Simply because the sale is made on ‘visuals’ – what it looks like. Clothing is one such example of a visual sale.

TIP : The best way to present your clothes for that professional look is to buy a shop window mannequin, presents the natural 3D appeal of how it will look on a person, rather than strewn across a bed with a spongebob squarepants duvet cover in he background!

Ed….That’s a bit creepy, i mean dressing up a plastic body its borderline serial killer?

Doris…you don`t mind me talking to mine on the sofa sharing tea and biscuits, while you`re at “knitting with spaghetti” classes!

AHEM, on with the show..

Of course, there are other kinds of items…

A digital camera, for example.

That’s an item that still needs a good picture, but the ‘technical’s’ and what you say about what it does (i.e. your description) will probably make the sale.

And then there are items which aren’t sold on the basis of their visuals at all – for example, information products.

Here, what you say in the description is 100% more important than the picture you take.

But I can tell you now – for most products, getting the picture RIGHT will make a BIG and worthwhile difference.

Invested in an high-end camera to get the most of your images, because believe me it pays off.

Some sellers (who sell fashion items) have been using them to good effect also.

And that’s my point – you don’t ‘need’ to OWN a good camera to use one…

Most people know a few people…and those people know a few people. The bottom-line:

I’m sure you know someone who knows someone with a really good digital camera.

And getting access to that camera is your ‘task for the day’!

For your first eBay product, make sure, if at all possible, that you use the highest- quality camera you can get your hands on.

(That means one that will probably cost £300+)

It can make a BIG difference – and that’s particularly so if you’re making a ‘visual’ sale.

If you’re NOT making a ‘visual’ sale, then forget the tasty product shots. I don’t believe they are really that important.

But for most of us, then you need to think about WHO you’re going to borrow that camera from!

Because most products are ‘visual’ to an extent – and a really high quality image will make a BIG difference to your results!

Making sure you’ve got a top-quality image will make plenty of difference in those ‘visual’ product categories.

So…who do you know with a high-end camera?

Certainly worth buying them a pint or two!

And while they`re drinking it, it`s…. Eds  book review..
