eBay..and GM Car Sales ?
Hi Ed WeBBers,
Missed me…of course you have i can tell with the Kleenex next to your monitor!
NOW peeps this post i would like to once again approach eBaying with the comparison to another global giant in relation to YOUR sales mindset ?
Ed….the word MINDSET, do you mean like a jigsaw set where you have to piece it all together?
No…Doris, you see the term means to instill a way of thinking , in other words set your mind on going to alaska for the winter , i`ll boil the kettle, you will find the flask is in the cupboard!
Peeps… if you`ve seen the movie “30 days of night” heres hoping?
ANYWAY!
I know what you are thinking….Ed what has GM the massive car manufacturers in the good ole USA got to do with eBay?
Well, nothing but i don`t know if you know of recent, but General Motors who own the following car model manufacturers..
- Saab
- Vauxhall
- Opel
- Chevrolet
- Cadillac
- Hummer
Are basicilly on the decline , THEY are going under so to speak , and this is just a few of the car models GM sell under , but the idea of selling their motors under differ brand names raises an eBay related idea?
Which brings me to the point!
Most sellers when starting out on eBay will tend to sell their products under one ID which is OK to start with and get your feet wet gaining those valuable positive feedback points .
BUT if you sell different types of products that relate to different markets under ONE eBay ID , you will look unprofessional and more importantly YOU will not look like an AUTHORITY on any targeted market, gaining you mistrust and uncertainty as to YOUR knowledge of any given market in turn being deemed unreliable for targeted infomation of any product whatsoever, and this ultimately will lose you sales !
For example you do not want to be selling skincare products and cameras under the same ID , you may have done your market research and found that these two markets are VERY LUCRATIVE , which THEY are, but the correct way to sell even hot targeted niche market products is by giving them their own eBay sellers account ID !
Lets look at the benefits in creating niche seller ID`S..
# Camera ID : Digital Focus , different branded cameras , different models in their own categories , YOU look professional you are the seller to buy from!
# Skincare products ID : Skincare Medic, private label products (your brand), different categories, e.g anti-wrinkle serum, moisturizers , lightening cream, etc…AGAIN you are the seller to buy from YOU are the AUTHORITYon this market!
Now you can see you have tapped into two very good markets that you have researched and deemed these are THE markets to build not ONE but TWO eBay businesses from under their own sellers IDs that will GROW in profits not decay , you are not keeping your eggs in one basket so to speak , and buyers will trust you as an authority believing in your product guarantees !
My final note is this you will surely fail ,if you try to sell different products under one eBay ID in the long run !
HOLY MOSES, turn back the clock, i`m once again late for my stuntman lesson, here we go..
” I have to arm wrestle a WWF wrestler, while skiing down a slope in the Alps on one leg listening to “Old man river” sung by a chipmunk” !
So thats a broken arm, a twisted leg , and two deaf ears bleeding, whislt a critter is hanging on to an area where the sun don`t shine!
Will my life ever be still?
SOD the stunt peeps, don`t miss my next endeavor to bring you good pain free content , with a look at PLR products and why they WILL make you naughty amounts of money , Nurrrrrrrrse ….Ed said naughty!
Until next time Ed WeBBers avoid chipmunks TTFN….Ed.

MY Ed WeBBers ARE PRICELESS!

Hello John,
Excellent point about targeting eBay sales. I haven’t started selling on eBay yet, but I shall make sure I have separate ID’s for different markets. Thanks for the tip.
John
Good point, Ed.
Enjoy the journey.

Hi Ed –
Failed to leave a comment on another eBay post about templates – no idea why – hope you don’t mind me leaving it here.
I agree it’s absolutely essential on ebay to use good looking templates and they can be a real pain in the behind to write or source.
Another option is to use a free “feeder” service, which provides it’s own templates. The one I use is AUCTIVA (www.auctiva.com) which allows loads of pictures (unlimited I think) and a wide variety of changing templates, all free to use, and a scheduling service. I choose a template, set my auctions up, schedule and forget. It even handles the automatic feedback! I find that Auctiva makes ebay turbo lister and other ebay programs redundant! Sadly it doesn’t make tea or do the trip to the post office for you or it’d be pretty perfect!
And I also totally agree with different identities – you MUST have a different one for your buying and selling (esp if you buy things to resell – people will check your feedback and see what price you PAID for an item you’re reselling to them – they can’t do this if you use different buyer/seller ids). And different niches = different ids. Oh and make sure you raise the money receiving limits on your paypal account or eventually no-one will be able to pay you til next year!
Great post!
