What are perennial markets ?
well, these markets are quite simply the ones to target that envelope products that will always been in demand , that will NEVER EVER lose you sales no matter what the climate at any given time!
Ed…. are you suggesting , that i should start selling envelopes on eBay ?
Doris… what you could do is put your self inside one and address it to siberria with a first class Airmail stamp on it !
Honestly the teamwork !
ANYWAY.
For instance, in the mainstream we would target markets that sell COMSUMABLE PRODUCTS like in the health and beauty market , every body will always either want or need these products to maintain their visual wants , needs, and youthful looks , also when these items are used we would need to re-stock on a regular basis to uphold our desires creating repeat sales for YOU!
Another great example would be during a RESESSION!
You see born out of this bleak downbeat time frame, markets will come of age!
House and car alarms will fly off your shelves due to the RISE IN CRIME can you see how opening up an eBay sellers ID selling these products would be lucrative !
How about actually selling car parts to customers who would find it extremely cheaper to repair their old car rather than buy a new one !
Now getting back to our Health and beauty theme , one of the most required health issue products that people will full your bank account for day after day is any form of STRESS RELIEF, i mean don`t you think that would be a major ailment for people during these troubled times ?
I AM SURE YOU WOULD !
So where do i find these type of products ?
Well, the best places for the RESSESSION boom would be to aquire all your stock from outlets such as stock being returned by consumers/retailers making serious profits by picking up these surplus/closeout/over-stocked goods , so find and contact the suppliers , you can make really good profits on eBay from these sources !
Use your imagination what would people be in the most need of during a recession, then just simply research and tap into these perennial markets for BIG EBAY PROFITS !

Great post, Ed. I’ve never really thoguht of stock in relation to the recession, an interesting idea. I guess I’ll be alright with oil lamp glassware as people may have their electricity cut off!!

Yep, people are always going to be looking for a bargain essentially so you can always think of niche areas where people once would have shopped in the shops for and will now be looking online for. A recession certainly doesn’t mean sales will drop, in my experience they just shift in a different direction.
