Have you seen the ‘Money For Gold’ adverts…

You’ve probably seen them?.

They go (quite simply!) like this:

"Money for your old gold!" – turn your old gold into cashola.

Give it to us, we’ll buy it, send you a cheque, and we’ll all walk away happy.

That’s the theory anyway!

And, in fact, I’m sure they offer a good service…

Now, the interesting thing about this business is that it’s been around for years – but has more recently surfaced because of the sky-rocketing price of gold on the markets.

Ed….Don`t tell me NASA`S now sending gold into space instead of chimps?

Doris…you couldn’t`be further from the truth, golds no good to martians but chimps are entertaining!

Here we go!

It is said that one chap started this ‘Cash For Gold’ business in the USA many moons ago- and then, sure enough, he got flooded with competitors.

All offering a similar proposition.

Now of course, the ‘business’ (as a whole) is very successful – in short, it could sustain plenty of competitors, but the chap who started it ended up with no real advantage over plenty of his competition.

My point?

Merely that the creation of entirely NEW ideas and concepts isn’t always the be-all-and-end-all.

In fact, being a knock-off artist can often work.

And work very well!

The eBay examples are too numerous to mention – in fact, in plenty of markets, there isn’t

that much advantage to ‘being first’ like our cash-for-gold chap above.

In fact, ‘being first’ can be risky.

‘Being second’ (knocking off a good idea) is often preferable, although for obvious reasons not everyone will be comfortable with this approach.

What home-run concepts are on eBay at the moment – ones like ‘Cash For Gold’?

And can they be knocked off?

I’m sure there are many, many examples – in fact, I know that because I see them every day.

You’ve just got to keep your eyes peeled for the eBay equivalent of a ‘Cash For Gold’ and be ready to pounce – and get a piece of the action for yourself.
