eBay..”Top-Rated” Seller Status And Stevie Wonder??

Hi Ed WeBBers,

You might have heard: eBay’s new ‘Top-Rated’ seller status is coming into effect soon…

What’s this all about?

Well, it appears to be like being a ‘PowerSeller’ but on steroids…a kind of high-end version where you’ll get preferential treatment such as lower fees, higher search placements and probably cookies as well.

How do you become one?

Well, the ‘rules’ are quite strict – the most difficult appears to be adhering to quite stringent ‘DSR’ scores – in short, if you get more than 0.5%

DSR scores which are rated as 1 or 2 – then you can’t make it to ‘Top-Rated’ seller.

There are TWO ways of getting round this – even if you are a brand-new seller.

Most sellers who implement two tactics for getting round the rules’ won’t have to worry about being a ‘Top-Rated’ seller in the slightest.

In the meantime, let me outline a FLAW of the ‘Top-Rated’ seller approach that eBay are taking…

Let’s say you’re selling into two markets.

The first is guitar tuners, the second is hair-dryers.

Two random examples, but there we go.

Ed….surely, these two markets are a dead loss, i mean who in there right mind would try to tune a guitar whilst drying their hair?

WELL…Doris, who in their right mind would want you in a full bath off water holding a live mains wire??

ERMMMMMMM!

Now, assume you get a 100% rating across your guitar tuners – people love them and they are easily the best at the best price.

But your hair-dryers, whilst very good, don’t quite make the same grade as the tuners.

The result?

Your whole account doesn’t qualify for ‘Top-Rated’ seller status.

That means, since you get lowered slightly in the search results, that your competitor inguitar tuners (who has a product that’s still as good, but not as good as yours) gets a higher placement than you.

Bam…people buying guitar tuners don’t get the best deal – because your whole account (because of the hair-dryers) gets ranked slightly lower.

Sure, you may argue you deserve to be penalised because your hair-dryers aren’t the best – but you can still hopefully see what I’m getting at.

The ‘Top-Rated’ thing doesn’t account for difference in account performance across niches/products – it just lumps everything together!

Anyway…

Its chill with a book time, its a tutorial book called…

“How to sing in braille with the lights out” by  Stevie Wonder during a powercut !

WEY HEY, don`t miss out on my next indulgence of words ,when i will be reviewing another awesome Internet  Marketer that come as a tag team, from the good ole US of A, and their BRAND NEW report that explains all you need to know about going green and i don`t mean with envy, SO stay perfectly tuned peeps!

But for now you know the drill  TTFN….Ed.
