eBay…Writing Great Titles and Subtitles Exposed !

Hi Ed WeBBers,

So you have this product ,  but when you listed it on eBay no one according to your visits counter , bothered to even look , could you have  the wrong product or was your title and subtitle not creating enough attention for the prospecting buyer to click through to your listing to see what the sales description as to offer, and so on..

Remember A.I.D.A in a previous post ?

Yes….Ed, i had a whippet called AIDA , but did you know you can`t buy running shoes for them?

Really…Doris, then contact Nike they might sponsor your dog, if it doesn`t smoke !

Now onwards, whether people realise it or not, there is a certain formula to writng listing titles and subtitles!

Both of these are important lines of advertising text , because they are the
first point of ATTENTION drawn to your eBay listing
, also known as the hook line !

A thing to note here is, your main title holds the best delivery statement as to what EXACTLY you are selling ,so make every one of the 55 characters that eBay allows you to use VERY WISELY, also note that the spaces inbetween are counted too !

Think about it logically, if you do not draw ATTENTION to your listing, potential buyers are not going to click through to your discription that will sell the product through the process of A.I.D.A , so now you can see that you have already begun the process with the

MAIN TITLE :

Here is the format to use for the first ATTENTION grabbing hook line to the main sales pitch !

The first thing you want to do,  is what is known as” Frontload the title” , a term used when you open the text line of the title with the exact keyword/s of  the product name !

This works very well with BRANDED PRODUCTS
, as they are popular pre-sold products that most people know about and want , so they type the product name keywords into eBays search engine and because you have “frontloaded” this keyword in your main title it will show your listing in the search results !

However it also works well with products in general that are extremely popular at least at the  moment in time , simply go to www.KeywordDiscovery.com , a tool that indicates how popular any search term is that has been used on the search engines that month if the product has a good search amount result , you simply use the product keywords again to frontload your main title !

For example..

a product , thats hypothetically popular, ALL THE RAGE ..

Power Tools
Sander Cordless Drill and Drill Bits  BNIB

Can you see the power of this use of keywords ,even though all the keywords showed good results ” power tools” was the biggest search result , so this was the “Frontloaded”  entry choice !

with a little keyword research you have four different keyword searches for your product ,in other words four different groups of traffic after what you are selling  see below..

“Power Tools” “Sander” “Cordless Drill” and “Drill Bits”  BNIB

and of course the abbreviation

Brand New In Box ,

The buyer then knows instantly the item has an iron clad backed guarantee!

Of course lets look at BRAND NAME title different market..

SONY ERICSSON w580i Mobile Phone 2gb sd memory card MIB

Again all search results where good however this time because we are selling a branded item we frontload with the brand name “!

Why..

Because, any branded item is popular and known to the consumer, this makes it a pre-sold item , people KNOW about it and will type the brand name keywords for the specific model you are selling into eBays search engine!

Also make the brand name in bold capitals it helps catch the surfers eye to then read the title , maybe you have something more to offer in your full title than the competiton, or maybe the competition hasn`t bothered to put the model number in there title but the prospecting buyer SEE IT IN YOURS !

So lets look at the keywords in this title..

“SONY ERICSSON w580i” “Mobile Phone” “2gb sd memory card”MIB

Again the use of an abbreviation Mint In Box , sounds like this particular seller offers a better quality phone than other sellers for a simular price bet they have a SOLID GUARANTEE as well , a very important wallet opener and trust builder.

Now the subtitle doesn`t need much explanation only to say you can use this to add more keywords to possibly attract more traffic, or you can make it into a question create a reason why the prospect should buy your item, and if you create the question in the subtitle right..

EG : For an info product..

Main Title : ” eBay business for sale selling anti aging Products
Subtitle :     ” Why are Skincare products a $billion industry ?”

The title is poor , but i just want to emphasize how the subtitle begs the question and creates INTEREST !

The prospect will then have to click through to find the answer , then the process of A.I.D.A begins in the description..

But thats another post!

“Gosh look at the time , its time for a bit of relaxation with another one of my fave books ,its based on ” little red riding hood” with a twist..

You see i`ve got to the exciting bit where it turns out she s a female serial killer who has already dispatched the three little pigs …but little does the wolf know..

” My what big.. JEESH whats with the chainsaw”?

Ah well , looks like loin of wolfs on the menu , with a hint of gammon!

Well peeps the next post will be just as sizzling , when we will look at what im up to with my first product on Masterclass , and the niche product warts n all will be revealed !

Until then Ed WeBBers TTFN….Ed.
