Hi Ed WeBBers,
Well , lets look at this piece of software kit that’s brought to you by “stardock.com”, it`s one of them software programs that is very handy indeed..
AND..
It`s comes with my favourite price tag *FREE*, WEY HEY!!!!!!!!
Yes peeps that’s right only on the net..
OK OK….Ed, i hear you cry what is it about what does it do ?
Basically, in the past if not present how many times have you placed shortcut icons on your desktop that seem to breed and colonize your screen?
Ed….Do computer icons really breed, i mean do they raise little cyber families?
No…DORIS they run hostels for homeless pixels !
Isn’t`t she the best?
AHEM, HERE WE GO..
Now. i myself as i have just stated am guilty of a PC screen with what appears to be an array of far too many unorganised icons on my desktop , but not any more after i discovered “Fences”!
What fences does is allow you to place your shortcut icons into boxes that you can categorise and title, so you can locate any particular icon you want to click on to visit whatever website you wish by recognising the category your shortcut will be in..
Checkout this screentap..
This is why each box containing your categorised icons are called fences because basically they fence in the icons..
Also you can have the titles in any colour font you want to nicely blend into your background scheme.
You can drag the fence in any direction to create your preferred size to accommodate any number of unsightly icons, BUT here is the beauty of this feature you can if you want place say 40 icons into one fence and the fence will automatically produce a scrolling sidebar so you can keep the fence area small and scroll down to whatever icon you wish!
Also to place a new fence on your desktop you simply right click hold down drag the cursor across the screen to your preferred box size let go and it automatically creates a new fence WAH-LA..
And if that wasn’t` enough if you want the fences containing their categorised icons to disappear simply doubleclick the desktop and they`re gone but not to worry doubleclick again and their back, tis magic..
Checkout this screentap of my desktop to see fences in action..
It`s now so easy and faster to locate the shortcut to any website i want..
